St. George Mill

Originally constructed by the St. George Pulp Mill, the building has played many roles throughout its life. It began as a center for pulp and paper production and later adapted to produce hydroelectric power, reflecting the shifting tides of local industry. Though operations ceased in 2003, the mill’s legacy hasn’t faded.

Today, the St. George Mill is the focus of restoration efforts by JD Irving aimed at preserving its historic character and keeping it standing as a community landmark and tourist attraction. Recent refurbishments have included clearing debris, repainting the exterior, and reinforcing its structure so future generations can continue to enjoy this picturesque piece of New Brunswick heritage.
