The Boynton Mountain Trail in the Red Rock Secret Wilderness

Up early and back down the road for another hike, this time a longer one (3 miles one way) up to Boynton Canyon. It wound through desert and it felt sometimes you were walking on a beach there was such deep sand. Then up to a wonderful pine forest, up and over rocks, while looking at the marvelous scenery all around. The end of the trail went up quite steeply and I didn’t know if I’d make it … but with a helping hand from Bruce I did. And what a view! Just remarkable! It took us about 5 hours all told … and we needed a bit of a nap after it all!

Boynton Canyon

Well, it’s a beautiful area, but we’re running low on food, water and running high on septic tanks & dirty laundry so we’re off to civilization tomorrow. We’re now heading West again towards Death Valley. We’ve made a reservation in Kingman as it’s still spring break and SO many people around we didn’t want to take any chances.
