On the Edgerton Hwy … only about 7 miles off the Richardson Hwy is a store/gas station/hotel/laundry/diner AND RV park. We found they only charged $15/night for dry camping so we decided to park here for the night … and then leave the mo-ho here while we drove to McCarthy and the Kennicott Mine. We’d opted to stay the night in McCarthy and the folks at Kenny Lake didn’t mind if we left the RV there while we were gone. And at only $15/night it wasn’t a bad deal!

The dry camping sites are actually much nicer than the full hook-ups which are simply a row in a gravel lot bordering the highway. The dry campsites are all in a nicely wooded area with lots of room for parking your car and setting up our bug room! There were picnic tables and firepits at each site.

They do offer water ($5) and a dump station ($15) so it’s very affordable. They even have wi-fi – although you have to go to the office to get it … but it’s very good from there!
