Prince George, British Columbia

We arrived in Prince George with the thoughts of catching up on email, buying groceries and some sundries that we’ve found were lacking during the last 2 weeks.  So SuperStore, WalMart, Winners, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Costco … all the big box stores in one town!  We tried to ‘shop local’ … but the town has been completely taken over by the big guys!

We’re staying at the Blue Cedars RV Park & Campground just outside of town.  It was raining like crazy for a while!

We did take in the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum which was pretty cool.  Tons of old rail cars, photos of the railway being built, and stories about the men who built and the men & women who followed the builders into the wilderness.  What a time that must have been!

Other than that … well … Prince George has blackflies … one of which got Bruce really ‘good’ on the cheek!  He’s got a giant swollen mound there now to mark the spot.  Oh … the good times to come!!

Tomorrow onwards towards Dawson Creek.
