PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW HOT WATER (TANKLESS) SYSTEM

We’d hoped to be on the road by now.  We had our ‘living’ RV (our 40′ 5th Wheel) towed away on Wednesday for storage and moved everything but food into our ‘travel’ RV.  We’re ‘camped’ out at Bruce’s parents’ place and were planning on leaving tomorrow (Monday May 5th) but in testing out the new systems we had installed recently we’ve encountered a BIG problem.

We installed a new tankless hot water heater … it sounded like a wonderful idea … we didn’t have to use propane to heat water when we’re not using it … it would simply heat the water on demand.

Good concept … not so good in execution.  We’ve found that the water is lukewarm at best with a very small flow.  This will just not work for anything – especially showers!  So now we’re going back to the dealer and they’ll either have to fix what we’ve got or they’re going to have to yank it out and put in a conventional hot water tank.

Has anyone else had these problems?  I’ve looked on forums and seen lots of discussions … some about the water cycling hot and cold, some about the flow, some about the length of time it takes to get the water hot … nothing positive yet at all.

I’ll let you know of the outcome!  Drat!  Always something!
