In Anchorage, Alaska, camping is basically parking.

In a parking lot. With hookups. It’s not a place to sit out and have a campfire. So to that end, this ‘park’ was ok as most of the time you’ll want to be out exploring Anchorage.

It’s located in kind of a grubby industrial area right on top of the railroad tracks (like some spots are literally 20′ away!), and the trains DO go by and blow their whistles which are LOUD and some times come in the wee hours!

One thing we DID find by accident … if you walk out of the park and to the left … follow the road a bit and cut into a parking lot (says “no trespassing” but if you go later in the evening there’s no one around) you can hop a fence and be on the Ship Creek Trail. It’s not more than 3-4 minutes from the park. A beautiful trail that goes for a really long time and follows the creek where apparently you can fish for salmon in the season! Wish there was an easier (and more legal) way to get to it!

So, the park was clean and convenient, but for $44 in my opinion it seems excessive for what you’re getting. But that’s campgrounds anymore!
