If you want to get up and personal with some glaciers and ‘bergs … the Portage Lake Glacier Cruise just might be your thing.

The Portage Lake Glacier Cruise is very reasonably priced at only $39 for an hour and since the lake is quite small (only about 2.5 miles long) this lets you spend a whole lot of time in front of the glacier.  The lake itself is spectacular, surrounded by mountains with waterfalls plunging straight into the lake!

The crew was very enthusiastic and knowledgable and were happy to answer all questions.

The boat has 2 floors with the enclosed main deck having the bulk of the chairs where you’d look out the windows. The upper deck has limited seating but lots of space to walk around and hang out at the railings to look at the glacier.

The crew even fished out some glacial ice and let you touch & taste it.
